WE ARE THE
FIREFLIES

We are a community of cyclists focused on the creative industries. Our mission is to raise funds for cancer research and provide support to those affected by this devastating disease, including individuals who have been diagnosed, as well as their friends and family.

For over 15 years we have organized an annual charity bike ride to raise funds for cancer research and created a community of riders to give the support and encouragement for the riders who want to try and ride over 600 miles in a week.

We believe that with sufficient training, personal commitment, and a positive spirit, anyone can complete a 600-mile bike ride over seven days and raise thousands of dollars. We have helped hundreds of aspiring cyclists accomplish this challenging feat.

Call for Saddles

600+ miles over 7 days

Willamette Valley to
Russian River Valley

9/27 - 10/3

Every year, we assemble a ‘team’ of returning riders and new recruits. To help us select the perfect balance of riders we invite all those you are interested in riding with us and can commit to training extensively for at least 6 months and raise thousands of dollars for The City of Hope to apply for a ‘saddle’, which is our unique and traditional term for a spot on our annual ride.

We have an amazing new route in store for you – both gorgeous and challenging. This year's route will take seven days to complete rather than the typical six. An extra day doing the thing you love! We’re going to be riding through verdant valleys, past rushing rivers, through hushed Redwood forests, over mountains and alongside dramatic, rocky coastline, from Willamette Valley in Oregon to Russian River Valley in California. Oh, and we just might be riding by a few vineyards along the way.

It is going to be epic. Will it be spicy? It will.

But this multi-day tour will also be entirely doable as long as you take it seriously, properly train for it and ride with your fellow Fireflies in groups. You will be riding 630+ miles and climbing 35,000+ feet over those 7 days.

Raising hope and money
for cancer research.

Each rider is self funded, they pay for everything themselves so every dollar donated goes directly to City of Hope. Since we began our annual ride, we have partnered with City of Hope. We chose them because of their cancer research-based approach, which aims to reduce the gap between laboratory discoveries and treatment. City of Hope also provides support to a diverse community of cancer patients, as well as their friends and family.
